It comes around only 3 days a year, so you're left with the remaining 362 days of the year to recreate its goodness. It's simply fried bologna and gouda cheese. Why is it so popular?! It's tried and true... a touch of Holland... and filled with nostalgia. The great part of this recipe is that it's not really a recreation... rather it grew up, and graduated into a new identity. Additional toppings, added flavors, and new textures recreate the old classic into a modern sandwich marvel.
